Hey, Kid! is a monthly newsletter celebrating children’s entertainment and culture two micro-essays at a time. We’re Alex and Claudia McCarron, and we started this project because we want to see more critical analysis of children’s entertainment written for a general audience: thoughtful, passionate opinions on middle grade, YA, and everything in between.

Every month, we’ll choose a theme and each write a mini-essay about a story—in the form of a book, movie, show, or game—centered on it.
